Barbados Kierre Beckles double-winner at Hokie Invitational

University of South Carolina senior Kierre Beckles was a double-winner at the Hokie Invitational held at the Rector Field House, in Blacksburg, Virginia this past weekend (January 25-26).  Kierre, the 22 year-old Barbados native, won the women’s 60m hurdles title in a time of 8.28 seconds ahead of Virginia Tech’s Leah Nugent (8.35 seconds) and her South Carolina teammate Chalese Davis (8.52) in third.  Kierre later joined teammates Erika Rucker, Christal Green and Nadonnia Rodriques to win the women’s 4x4 relay title in a time of 3:37.70. Kierre, who has an indoor personal best 8.11 seconds in the 60m hurdles, is off to a great start to her 2013 season.
