Wariner, Spearmon and McCorory Win Season Debut
The 2012 outdoor season officially started this past weekend and saw several elite athletes taking the top spots. At the TCU Invitational of Friday March 16th, Wallace Spearmon won the 100m in 10.06 (+ 2.8 ws) while Jeremy Wariner took the 200m in 20.66 (+2.6 ws).  After the race, Wariner was quoted as saying the he is back and gold was his goal for the season. At the Wake Forest Open also on Friday night (March 16th) USA’s quarter-miler Francena McCorory took the top spot in the women’s 400m in a time of 52.58 seconds. Dwayne Extol (Jamaica) of the University of Alabama was 3rd in the 400m in 47.46 seconds at the Bulls Invitation at the University of South Florida on March 16th. At the UWI Invitational in Kingston Jamaica, Jermaine Gonzales won the 400m in 45.92 ahead of Allodin Fothergill (46.22) Rosemarie Whyte won the women’s 400m in 51.86 seconds ahead of Sherone Simpson 52.77 seconds
